Mechanical Recycling

Mechanical recycling is a method that converts materials such as waste plastic, paper, glass and metal into reusable raw materials through physical processes. In this process, recyclable waste is made reusable in the industry by going through steps such as cleaning, grinding, melting and reshaping.

The mechanical recycling method, which is widely used especially in recycling plastic waste, enables reuse through physical processes without chemically changing the material structure. Plastics are turned into granule form by breaking, washing and extrusion processes and can be used as raw materials in the production of new products. This method contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing the dependency on fossil-based new plastic production while also ensuring that waste is recycled into the economy.

Biotrend aims to make our recycling processes more integrated and to support raw material production by investing in mechanical recycling technologies. In this context, it develops projects on the separation of recyclable plastics and their granulation into the industry. In particular, it aims to recycle more waste and bring it into the circular economy by strengthening its infrastructure for the sustainable management of high-volume plastic waste.
