Industrial Waste Fuel (WDF)
In the production of ATY, materials such as textile, paper, rubber and plastic industry wastes, residues from wood and furniture production processes, by-products from refinery and petrochemical industries and packaging wastes are used. These wastes are homogenized by crushing and size reduction processes and then the fuel quality is increased by reducing the moisture content with drying processes. Materials that cannot be recycled in the production processes but have high energy content are also evaluated as ATY and are used in energy production. The use of industrial wastes as ATY not only provides energy recovery, but also minimizes environmental impacts by reducing the amount of waste going to regular landfills. In particular, it contributes to the reduction of fossil fuel use, reduces carbon emissions and supports sustainable energy solutions. This process enables industrial waste management to be evaluated within the framework of a model that is not only focused on disposal but also compatible with circular economy principles. Biotrend, the Company's 100% subsidiary İzmir Doğu Star Elektrik Üretim A.Ş., plant-based parks, gardens, branches, etc. won the tender for the establishment of a facility suitable for the production of ATY raw materials from furniture, domestic and industrial waste and electricity from solar energy and for the use of the activity area for the operation of this facility for a period of 20 years.
